Palladium is unique in our industry as we specialize in highly detailed architecturally designed homes and renovations yet we routinely work on virtually all sizes of projects from room remodels to complete custom homes. Serving Western North Carolina, Palladium Builders provides Architects and Homeowners with a skilled, experienced and established partner in the homebuilding industry.

Palladium specializes in unique, highly detailed custom homes of all sizes and styles. From refined golf community estates to rustic mountain cabins, from traditional to contemporary, our approach to quality and longevity is matched only by our attention to detail and service. We work exclusively with the finest craftsmen and materials and we’re personally involved in every aspect of the process regardless of size. We believe it’s this attention to detail, on our projects, that truly makes them great.

Renovation restores life and vitality to a time weathered or, more frequently, an under built home. Often including a much needed addition of space - we have the experience and the skilled craftsman to seamlessly build on to any existing structure and we take great care to match the architectural characteristics of each home we remodel. Too often, underneath the rough exterior of numerous coats of paint and seasonal modifications lies an artisans masterpiece. At Palladium, our desire is to incorporate historic materials with the latest technologies to preserve the character of the historic properties on which we work and to furnish modern amenities, energy efficiency and comfort.

Many of our projects have us working from an architects plans but, at Palladium, we also offer a complete design/build service working from the ground up directly with the homeowner. The design/build approach offers an owner significant advantages over other delivery methods. These include single source responsibility for all planning, design, and construction services, guaranteed project cost and schedule, and the ability to eliminate change orders. Design/build can also reduce the project delivery time by overlapping the design phase and construction phase of the project. Project costs are often reduced because the builder (in developing the design concept) includes cost-saving ideas or methods.

At Palladium, we feel we have a genuine responsibility to be supportive members of the community and be considerate to the environment. To this end, our endeavors include water and energy conservation technologies, recycling initiatives, working with environmentally sensitive products and expanding our use of sustainable materials. We are ongoing members of the WNC Green Building Council and the NC Healthy Built Homes Program.

our practices include

Natural building is the need to lessen the environmental impact of buildings and other supporting systems without sacrificing comfort, health or aesthetics. This approach utilizes recycled, natural or minimally processed materials which may be readily available or even indigenous to the area.

Green building brings together a vast array of practices and techniques to reduce and ultimately eliminate the impacts of new buildings on the environment and human health. There are a number of motives to building green including environmental, economic, and social benefits.

I’m often asked how I arrived at the name Palladium and, although the reasons were numerous, there were two which stood out. After 10 years in engineering, I developed a strong relation to science and its values which I wanted to carry into this company and perhaps primarily, as an element Palladium is rare, stable and valuable. This defines our approach to building.
